Multi-colour 3D printing, up to 4 colours in one part
Most 3D printing shops print in one colour and glue the pieces together. Our AMS changes filament mid-print, so a single part comes off the bed in up to four colours, instead of being printed in pieces and glued together.

- No resin (SLA) printing — very fine detail, miniatures and jewellery are better suited elsewhere.
- Nothing larger than about 256 mm in any direction, unless it can be split into parts.
- No mass production. Three printers means prototypes and small batches.
- PLA and PETG only — no ABS, nylon or carbon-fibre filled materials.
- Not multi-material: we change colours, not material types, so a single part cannot combine rigid and flexible plastic.
Is this the same as multi-material printing?
No, and the difference matters. We change filament colours during a print, so one part can carry up to four colours. We cannot combine different material types — for example rigid PLA and flexible TPU — in the same part.
What is it good for?
Logos, signage, board-game pieces, architectural models, and gifts where a colour change would otherwise mean gluing separate pieces together.
Does it cost more than single colour?
Somewhat. Changing colours means the printer purges filament at each switch, which uses extra material and adds print time. We include that in the quote.
